Cosmetic Surgery Holiday in Thailand

Beauty is Not Skin Deep

Recently, cosmetic surgery in Thailand has been gaining international fame, and for good reasons, mostly because of the price and of course media exposure of beautiful people having undergone cosmetic surgery in Thailand. However, not all of them are equally good, and those keen on travelling for cosmetic surgery will have to conduct thorough research prior to a lifelong surgical alteration.  Uberholiday saves you the nightmares and botched jobs by curating a list of the best plastic surgeons in Thailand.

Most people say “Beauty is skin deep”. I am afraid I don’t agree. Whoever said that was probably referring to morality and conscience. In the world outside your skin, it’s the looks that matter. Ask any woman from a 12 year old to a 60 year old. The most beautiful woman in the world will also tell you she needs a little nip tuck. Cosmetic surgery has become a common practice from Hollywood celebrities to your average girl.

Just the thought of getting a surgery is distressing to most. Finding the right surgeon, an affordable price, clinic with good pre-op and post-op facilities is a difficult job. Arranging for the same abroad is absolutely daunting. However, the lure of competitive pricing and work plastic surgeon credentials now means that many cosmetic surgery clinics in Thailand offer complete cosmetic surgery holiday packages.

Bang for the Buck

If you want the most bang for the buck then Thailand should be your first choice. According to estimations, medical care in Thailand is 1/3 of that in Singapore, 1/5 of that in Western Europe and around 1/8 of that in the US. Majority of patients can not only pay for their procedure but also airfare, hotel accommodation, recuperation in a luxurious resort, and still pay less than what they would in their home country.

In addition to low prices, many of the things that attract common tourists to Thailand are what medical tourists find compelling too. These include a welcoming approach to tourists, great food, an understanding of English, and of course beautiful scenery.

You can never be too Cautious

Anyone that takes a scalpel to your face needs to be highly skilled and experienced. Also you must feel a 100% comfortable with your surgeon. If you feel he is not answering all your questions, hiding his qualifications and past experience, is not listening to your requirements, not showing before and after photos of past surgeries he has done then that’s a warning signal. There are plenty of examples of people who ended up with absolute nightmare experiences. Research online forums that discuss plastic surgery clinics and surgeons. Go through them, discuss with others, and ask questions before you decide which surgeon to go with.

While consulting with the surgeon, ask for details of any medications you must avoid before and after surgery. For example common medicines like aspirins, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E and even herbal medicines like Gingko Biloba are usually discouraged. It may be helpful to tell your surgeon if you take foods like almonds, grapes, garlic, cucumbers and tomatoes on a daily basis.

Healing and Holidaying

Recovery period varies for the type of surgery you get done. For example a typical mammoplasty (breast implants) takes about 6 days to heal enough for patients to start their daily routines.  To fully recover from a nose job or rhinoplasty you need about 3 weeks. This includes taking off the cast and the time needed for swelling and bruising to go away. This is also why being in Thailand is good. For fast recovery sample the delicious Thai cuisine.  Have a relaxing day soaking up the sun at the beach but make sure you stay away from direct contact with the water. Also a gentle Thai massage by an expert referred by your doctor or clinic is the ideal way to recover from an invasive surgery.

Enjoy the two-in-one benefit of looking gorgeous and feeling great!
